Horizontal gene transfer (HGT).<\/p>\n<p>The production and use of antibiotics has become increasingly common around the world, and the problem of antibiotic resistance is growing alarmingly. Drug-resistant infections threaten human life and health and place a heavy burden on the global economy. The molecular basis of bacterial resistance is the presence of antibiotic resistance genes (ABGs). The current study aimed to test the drug sensitivity of pathogenic bacterial species isolated from the air of Basra Governorate during the period 3\/1\/2023 until 11\/1\/2023.
