Abstract
The study included the examination of 200 stool samples for children under the age of five who suffer from chronic and persistent diarrhea in addition to gastroenteritis in some areas of Nineveh Governorate and those who are hospitalized in Ibn Sina and Ibn al-Atheer hospitals, in addition to Hamdaniya Hospital. Birds and livestock, the Zeil-Nelsen method was used in the diagnosis, where the percentage of infection appeared at ages less than a year (20%) and between (3-1 years) (29.6%), and the percentage was higher in children between the ages of (5-3), reaching (42.6) The flotation method was also used with saturated sugar solution. The percentages in children less than a year reached (6.6%), and in children between (3-1) it reached (24.6%), and the percentage was higher in children between the ages of (5-3). It reached (37%), while the infection rate was recordedWhile the total infection rate was recorded according to the areas under study (Al-Hamdania – Bartella – Bashiqa – Fadila – Kogjali) (36.6 – 27.2 – 36.3 – 32 – 48.1), respectively.
