Abstract :
The study aimed to Some chemical and physical properties of the used oil and extracted by cold distillation using a clevenger device were also studied, where the value of the peroxide number was 3.7 O2mq/kg Oil, the saponification number is 160.4 g/KOH g of oil, and the acidity value is 0.10. The refractive index of the oil was also measured and its value was 1.470, the density was 0.922 g/m3, the relative viscosity was 4.5 c.p, and the smoking point was 210 ⁰C.
The oil content of fatty acids (lauric, linoleic, linolenic, palmitic, stearic oleic) was also estimated, with a percentage of (0.688, 0.280, 0.090, 1.266, 0.33 0.590) g/kg, respectively. The active compounds in peppermint oil were measured by GC/MS device technology. The most important of these compounds that appeared are Menthol, Methone, Pulegone and Limonene D- and their quantities were 28.5), 19.20, 18.26, (10.46%, respectively).
