Abstract

A field experiment was carried out at the Field Crops Department Research Station – College of Agriculture – Tikrit University, during the winter season 2021-2022 to study some characteristic of vegetative growth. It was used randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with three replications in accordance with system of split plots for one-time. The results have been compared depending on Duncan test on possibility level (1% and 5%).The results of the study showed that the Syrian variety was significantly superior in most of the yield characteristics and components of the flax plant, as the ratio of the number of seeds in the capsule was (7.57) seed capsule⁻¹, the weight of 1000 seeds was (6.396) g, the number of capsules per plant (68,819) and the total yield ( 1301.38) kg H⁻¹. The fertilizer combination (T9) was significantly superior to most of the studied traits of flax plant in the characteristic of the number of seeds in the capsule (7.224) seed capsule⁻¹, the weight of 1000 seeds (7.400) g, the number of capsules per plant (83,720) and the total yield (1426.15) kg H ⁻¹. The dual interaction showed a significant effect on the yield characteristics and its components, as the interaction between the Syrian variety and the fertilizer combination (T9) was superior to most of the studied traits, such as the number of seeds in the capsule (8.133) seed capsule⁻¹, the weight of 1000 seeds (7.466) g and the number of capsules (88.12) capsules. plant⁻¹ and the total yield (1471.20) kg H⁻¹.
