Abstract

Time is an essential element in the cinematograph, as no dramatic artistic work is devoid of the element of time. Through it, we can identify the time in which the events of the story take place, which serves as the base on which the rest of the story elements are based, and plays an important role in the drama as an engine of events and as a painting on which the characters are drawn. Hence, given the importance of the structure of dramatic time within the artistic work, especially the historical work, the researcher set out to define the topic of her research, (the construction of dramatic time in historical drama and its relationship to standard time), and the research was divided into four chapters, which were as follows:

The first chapter: (the methodological framework) included the research problem, the need for it, the importance of the research as well as its limits, and the chapter concluded by defining the terms that were mentioned in the title of the research.

Chapter Two: (Theoretical Framework and Previous Studies) The researcher divided the chapter into three sections:

The first topic (the structure of time and its transformations in historical drama).

As for the second topic (dramatic framing of the element of time in historical drama).

As for the third topic (the cognitive relationship between the dramatic time and the standard time).

As for the third chapter (research procedures), the research method, the research tool extracted from the theoretical framework, the unit of analysis, and the research sample that were deliberately chosen to reach the results and goals were determined.

As for the fourth chapter (results and conclusions), it included the results of the research reached by the researcher, the most important of which are:

1- The dramatic time in historical works gives the present (now) the ancient human experiences and transmits them to us to benefit society from them, whether the experience is social, cultural, political or economic.

2- Dramatic time presents us with characters and events that he can raise and highlight, or on the contrary.

3- It is possible that the dramatic time controls the feelings of the viewer, so we see him sympathize, love or hate this historical fact.

4- Dramatic time summarizes the events and characters that are not influential in the main event.

As well as the conclusions that the researcher came out with in the light of the research results.
