Abstract
In this study Candida was isolated and diagnosed that cause diseases of the genital tracts of women from who attending Salah Al-Din General Hospital who were diagnosed by specialized doctors and detecting their sensitivity to antifungals Amphotericin B, Nystatin, Fluconazole and Clotrimazole.
20 samples of Candida sp. were isolated, the most abundant of candida was C. albicans with a number of 13 isolates, making up 65% of the total isolated samples, followed by C. sphaerica with 4 isolates with a percentage of 10%, and the least isolated samples was C. Guelrmondy 3 samples, with a percentage of 15%.
Through this study, the sensitivity of the isolated candida towards antifungals was identified, as the highest inhibition diameter for C. albicans in the anti-Amphotericin B was 17 mm in diameter, and the lowest inhibition diameter was in the anti-Nystatin, which was 12 mm.
- sphaerica recorded the highest inhibition diameter in the Fluconazole with a diameter of 22 mm and the lowest inhibition diameter of 16 mm in the Clotrimazole.
As for the C. Guelrmondy, it had the highest inhibition rate in the amphotericin B with a diameter of 19 mm and the lowest in the Nystatin with a diameter of 13 mm.
