Abstract
The experiment was carried out in the autumn and spring agricultural seasons of the year (2021-2022) in two seasons, the first at the research station of the Field Crops Department of the College of Agriculture / Tikrit University, and the second in the fields of a farmer in Al-Sharqat District of Salah Al-Din Governorate, in order to obtain the half-cross crosses of six genotypes In yellow sugar corn (Snowy River, Biotek/Talar, Aristo, Seminis, Syngenta, Biotek/Shahid) and the resulting half-cross hybrids, in addition to comparing the treatment on growth and yield characteristics (male flowering, female flowering, plant height) using the plates method The results were as follows:-
1- The hybrids 1×2, 1×6, 2×5 and 2×6 showed a desirable significant heterosis for most of the traits that were studied on the basis of the deviation of the first generation.
2- The general ability to coalesce was significant for all the traits that were studied, and the special ability was highly significant for all the traits studied.
3- Father Snowy River gave significant effects to the general ability for all the studied traits, but he showed a delay in male and female flowering. Father Aristo showed general ability effects on the characters of number of days up to 75% male flowering, and the hybrid showed significant effects (2×6) effects of special ability, moral and direction Required in most attributes.
