ABSTRACT
This research aims to measure the impact of using each of the varieties (traditional and modern) and focus on modern varieties in increasing the productivity of dunums of wheat crop, and to determine the amount of increase in production by replacing high-productivity varieties with low-productivity varieties, as the study sample reached (160) farmers distributed at the level of Salah al-Din Governorate, and by estimating the production function of the (traditional) wheat crop varieties, it was found that the (F) test, which represents the significance of the function as a whole, was significant at a significant level (1%) and that the coefficient of determination (R2) amounted to (0.75) and it was found that The value of X1 amounted to (0.011), which corresponds to the logic of economic theory and is significant at the level of (1%),As for the value of (X4), it amounted to (-0.001) and was significant at the level of (1%), and the sign of the coefficient (X5) came (-0.002) and was significant below the level of (1%), which is contrary to economic logic. As for the value of (X6), it reached Its value is (0.56), and it was significant at the level (1%), and it was showed through the estimation of the production function of the (modern) wheat crop varieties that the (F) test, which represents the significance of the function as a whole, was significant at the level of significance (1%), and the results showed that the coefficient of determination ( R2) has a value of (0.86) and the value of X1 has reached (0.006), which is identical to the logic of economic theory and is significant, As for the value of the X2 coefficient, it was (0.005) and significant at the (1%) level, while the value of the X3 parameter was (0.008) and significant at the (1%) level, while the value of X4 was (-0.0003) and significant at the (1%) level. It is assumed that the increase in irrigation hours leads to an increase in production, but the presence of the negative sign indicates that there is a waste in the use of water, as the sign of the coefficient (X5) was about (- 0.004) and is significant below the level of (1%), and this is contrary to economic logic, As for the value of (X6), its value reached (0.085), which has a positive and significant sign at the level (1%) and is identical to the economic logic, while the value of Atlantis pesticide (X7) reached (0.068), which is positive and significant from a statistical point of view at the level (1%) .The study came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the expansion of the cultivation of high-yielding varieties of the wheat crop in all districts and areas of of Salah al-Din, replacing the low-yielding varieties
