Abstract

A Field experiment was conducted during the season 2021-2022 at the research station of the field crops department /college of Agriculture, Tikrit University to study effectiveness of plant distribution and chemical herbicides on weeds accompany the wheat crop Triticum aestivum L. and its impact on successive crop, it was carried out according to RCBD design with three replication, the seeds of wheat crop (Buhoth 10) were planted at three row spacing 15, 20 and 25 cm, four chemical herbicides were added at the recommended rate and +½ of the recommended rate, Granstar+Topik (40 And 60 g.ha-1 + 300 and 450 ml.ha-1), Pallas 500 and 750 cm3.ha-1, Atlantis 300 and 450 g.ha-1, Tarzec 90 and 135 g.ha-1 with a comparing treatment without spraying.

The results of the study showed the following:

The effect of row spacing was non- significant in weeds density, but it was significant in trait of weeds control, which gave the highest average of (85.6)% with the distance  25 cm.

Row spacing 15 and20 cm gave maximum significant average of wheat yield reached to (5.66 and 5.68) tons.ha-1, respectively.

All herbicides which used in this study showed highly efficiency in controlling and reducing weed plants compared to the weedy treatment, which recorded the highest significant average reached to (29) plants m-2.

Both recommended and high doses of Tarzec hebicide were significantly superior by giving the highest average of weed control, reached to (99.25 and 99.73)% respectively.

plants height decreased in chemical herbicides treatments compared to the weedy treatment, which gave the highest significant average (91.93) cm.

The interaction between treatments Atlantis1+½, Pallas1 , Tarzec1 and  20 cm row spacing, achieved the highest significant average of grains yield reached to (6.45, 6.42 and 6.39) tons.ha-1, respectively.

The residue of different herbicides treatments added in the soil did not show any significant effect on leaf area (cm2) of yellow maize crop planted later.
