Abstract : The aim of the research is to identify the effect of the exploration strategy on the achievement of chemistry, as well as to identify their attitudes towards it among first-year secondary school students in secondary schools in the capital, Sana’a. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher formulated the following two null hypotheses:
– There is no statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the first secondary students who will study according to the exploration strategy and the first secondary students who will study according to the usual method of obtaining chemistry
– There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the first secondary students who will study according to the exploration strategy and the first secondary students who will study according to the usual method of orientation toward chemistry.
The researcher prepared two research tools: the achievement test and the measure of attitudes toward chemistry. They were presented to a group of experts and arbitrators to find their apparent validity. They were also applied to an exploratory sample in order to find their psychometric properties, such as the effectiveness of alternatives, discrimination, construct validity, and reliability, so that they would be ready for application.
