Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the factors leading to the reluctance of Saudi youth to marry. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach using the social survey method. A questionnaire was administered to a purposive sample consisting of (316) male and female postgraduate students across five Saudi public universities. The findings revealed a “high” level of agreement regarding the overall factors. Economic factors ranked first with a mean of (4.14), followed by health and psychological factors (4.06), technological factors (4.01), family factors (3.66), and religious factors (3.63). Socio-cultural factors ranked last with a mean of (3.41). Based on these findings, the study recommended providing low-cost affordable housing, increasing financial support for youth through soft loans, organizing open workshops and counseling sessions, and leveraging religious platforms to rectify misconceptions regarding Islamic matrimonial principles.
