Abstract
This study was conducted in the fields of the College of Agriculture and Forestry / University of Mosul, where four semi-enclosed barns were equipped with feeders and water drinkers for the period from 15/11/ 202 1 to 15/ 2/202 2 ,where 20 Awassi lambs aged 10-12 months were randomly distributed into four treatments ,with an average of five lambs for each treatment and the treatment was carried out daily as follows: The first group: a standard diet, the second group: standard diet + 1.5 gm protected methionine, the third group: standard diet + 3 gm lysine protected, the fourth group: standard diet + (1.5 gm Methionine and 3 gm of protected lysine (/head/ day) were taken and the indicators related to the productive performance and some characteristics of the carcass were taken.The results of the statistical analysis were: no significant differences in the final weight, the daily and total weight gain, the amount of feed consumed, and the weight of both the hot carcass, the back, the shoulders, Neck, fore arm, head, legs, full and empty rumen weight, ocular muscle area and dressing ratio calculated on the basis of the empty body weight , an improvement in the efficiency of food transfer, a significant increase in the weight of the thighs in the third and fourth treatment, a significant decrease in the thickness of the subcutaneous fatty layer and a significant increase in the weight of the chest and flanks and the weight of the skin In the third treatment, the weight of the ribs increased in the second treatment.
