Abstract

Various countries hosting refugees have signed the 1951 Refugee Convention and standards for international refugee protection are published and adopted in accordance with refugee law, but often these countries have a role in the development of the refugee convention through presence and activity in the arenas of the world in which refugee protection takes place.

The 1951 Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol are the basis of the international refugee regime, that is, the legal rules and supportive institutions that focus their attention on the protection of refugees. A set of international and regional agreements, the fact that the refugee seeks asylum for reasons that justify his protection and falls on the country that grants asylum to guarantee respect for the right of the refugee and not to force him to return or expel him except in exceptional cases.
