Abstract
A field experiment was carried out at the Field Crops Department Research Station – College of Agriculture – Tikrit University, during the winter season 2021-2022 to study some characteristic of vegetative growth. It was used randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D) with three replications in accordance with system of split plots for one-time. The results have been compared depending on Duncan test on possibility level (1% and 5%).The results of the study showed that the Syrian cultivar was significantly superior in most of the vegetative growth characteristics of flax plant, as the percentage of nitrogen was (2.5759)% and the percentage of phosphorous was (0.2791)%. As for the Sakha cultivar, the percentage of potassium was recorded (1.2947)%. The flax plant was significantly affected by the total chlorophyll content as it reached (1.836 mg g ⁻¹ fresh weight) and the ratios of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium were (2.719, 0.323, 1.828)%. Fertilizer (T9) for some of the studied traits, as the percentages of phosphorous and potassium were (0.3410, 2.2783)%, respectively.
