Abstract :

A field experiment was carried out during the fall season 2021 in an agricultural field In the Qayyarah sub-district located in Nineveh Governorate, to know the effect of adding sulfur and spraying Boron on growth and some yield traits of Helianthus annuus L. The experiment was applied using the randomized complete block design (R.C.B.D.),The experiment included a study of two factors: four levels of sulfur (0, 800, 1600, 2400) kg S.H-1 With three concentrations of boron (0, 50, 100) mg B.L-1 with a total of  twelve treatments The results showed that the level of 2400 kg S.H-1 had an effective effect in increasing Plant height and leaf area, as the highest rate of plant height trait was recorded at 157.11 cm, compared to the first level (0 kg S.ha-1), which recorded the lowest rate for the trait He reached 149.20 cm. It also affected the characteristic of leaf area and gave the best rate for the trait reached 2528.97 cm2 compared to the lowest rate of the trait that was recorded by the effect of the comparison treatment, which was 1988 cm2, the highest average of the head diameter was 20.32 cm with the effect of the level 1600 kg S.ha-1, which did not differ significantly from the level of 2400 kg S.ha-1 compared to the level The first that recorded the lowest diameter of the head was 18.22 cm, and the effect of the level was 2400 kg S.H-1 As for boron, the concentration of 100 mg B.L-1 significantly affected the plant height 159.66 cm While the concentration of 50 mg B.L-1 had a significant effect on the characteristic of leaf area, as it reached 2268.39 cm2 compared to the control treatment that gave the least effect on the two traits. As for the characteristic of disk diameter, boron concentrations did not record any significant differences in this characteristic .
