ABSTRACT
Microstrip patch antenna array has been widely used in recent years due to its robust design, it is characterized by its light weight and low cost, and its performance is very exciting for some important applications, the thin chip antenna matrix is used in various fields such as personal communication systems, medical applications, mobile satellite communications and military systems, in this work we analyze the effect of the insulating substrate isolation constant on the 2×1 microstrip patch antenna array at the frequency GHz2.4 and is suitable for WLAN and WIMAX network applications As the CST Microwave Studio Version 2019 program was used to design, simulation and analyze the proposed model, and the tape line feeding technology was used to feed the array, and a set of mathematical relationships were used to calculate the dimensions of the matrix, we simulate and analyze the array on three dielectric pillars, namely (FR-4) with an isolation constant of 4.3, (Polycarbonate) with an isolation constant of 2.9, and (Rogers RO3006) with an isolation constant of 6.5, and to what extent these pillars affect the return loss and the percentage of stopped wave voltage (VSWR), as well as the far-field radiation pattern of the array, as well as Packet width and gain for the array.
The results showed that the effect of the substrate isolation constant on the properties of the array in terms of return loss is direct, that is, the lower the insulation constant, the lower the return loss and the greater it increases, either the effect of the insulation constant on the beam width is that the insulating material with a higher dielectric loss has a lower quality factor and therefore a larger beam width, as for its effect on gain, it was the opposite effect, i.e. the gain decreases with the increase of the dielectric constant and increases with its decrease, as for the distant radiation pattern, it affected it The insulation constant is also the opposite effect, while the standing wave ratio (VSWR) had the effect of the substrate isolation constant on it a direct effect, i.e. decreases with its decrease and increases with its increase.
