Abstract
This study includes the preparation and characterization of some mercury (II) complexes with a new ligand (Aa) (dithiocarbamate) with amines such as (2-ampy, 3-ampy, 4- ampy,) .The (Aa) ligand was prepared from reaction of (2- aminobenzothaosol and KOH and CS2 and Benzyl chloride to give (Aa) ligand. One mole of Metal chlorides HgCl2 were treated with one mole of (Aa) ligand and one moles of ( 2- ampy, 3-ampy, 4-ampy), to give, [Hg(Aa)(2-ampy)]Cl2 [Hg(Aa)(4-ampy)]Cl2, [Hg(Aa)(3-ampy)]Cl2, where the (Aa) ligand behaves as bidentate ligand through nitrogen atom of azomethine group (C=N) and sulfur atom of dithiocarbamate group (C=S). The prepared complexes were characterized by technical of elemental analysis C.H.N.S, electrical molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, electronic spectra, infrared spectra and, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectra, where results indicate that the ratio 1:1:1 metal: ligand: amine. The biological efficiency of the ligand and the prepared complexes were studied. Then it is found that it is highly efficient towards Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis and Gram-negative bacteria Citrobacter freundii, the prepared complexes were proved higher efficiency than antibiotic )Amikacin) on the concentrations (1×10-3,10-4 and10-5). All the complexes that have two concentrations of (1×10-3,10-4) showed highly efficiency and less with afocus (1×10-5).
