Abstract:
This study explores the concept of education by example as manifested in the Qur’anic narratives, taking the story of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) as a practical model. The research illustrates how the Qur’an presents Ibrahim (PBUH) as a living example to be emulated in matters of faith, behavior, patience, and da’wah (Islamic preaching).
The influence of exemplary conduct is evident in his relationship with his family, as he embodies the compassionate father who combines affection with guidance, particularly in his dialogue with his son Isma’il (peace be upon him). His patience in the face of harm from his people and his steadfastness in upholding the truth despite tribulations underscore patience as a significant educational pillar.
In the realm of da’wah, his method stands out for its use of reasoned dialogue and gentleness, making him a role model for preachers and educators alike. The study concludes that education by example, as embodied in the character of Ibrahim, is an effective means of instilling faith and values, due to its direct and practical impact on individual behavior. This affirms the richness of Qur’anic stories as a valuable source in the field of Islamic education.
