Abstract:
This research deals with the concept of references in the poetry of Ibn al-Qaysarani, due to the problems that the concept of reference poses, around which there has been extensive discussion, and which has witnessed conceptual ambiguity since its emergence. This is perhaps due to its multifaceted nature in several fields, which has made it not confined to a narrow cognitive horizon, as it has occupied many thinkers and researchers in different disciplines, whether in philosophical, social, human, political, historical and others. Therefore, we find it formulated by researchers, each serving the field they represent or belong to. This has led to a diversity of uses for this term within a reading through which we will seek to highlight the most prominent of those positions, reasons, and motivations that shaped the atmosphere of the text presented by the poet, and which constituted the largest portion of most of his collection. Language does not operate in isolation from culture; rather, it carries within it cultural markers that help in understanding the true meaning of words. These are the sources, ideas, values, and knowledge upon which the writer or poet relies within the text, and through which the text is understood. Thus, our aim in researching those references and techniques employed by Ibn al-Qaysarani is to create an impactful effect on his audience, expressing the image of his era and what preceded it
